Couple's Therapy

Relationship dissatisfaction can arise even in healthy relationships. As a couple's counselor, my goal is to increase the ability to deeply understand one another through effective communication. This often starts with learning how to communicate with ourselves regarding our own vulnerable thoughts and emotions. We then translate this to communicating well with our partners, focusing on the goal of "hearing and being heard" in all experiences. Our work will also focus on bringing play back into the relationship- focusing on laughter, fun, and increasing the friendship that is foundational to all healthy relationships.

My approach to couple's therapy is based on the Gottman method for couple's therapy, an evidence-based approach for increasing relationship satisfaction.
